About HopOn HopOff Holland

Hop On Hop Off Holland is a small and enthusiastic team of about ten people.
We organize day trips, canal cruises and excursions to well-known places in the Netherlands. Think of Keukenhof, Amsterdam, Volendam, Giethoorn, the windmills and other places that many visitors want to see.
Our goal is simple: we want our guests to have a nice day and experience the Netherlands in a pleasant way.
We are not a large, anonymous company. We work with a small team, know each other well and are all involved in the tours in our own way. One person works on planning, another on the website, sales, customer service, operations or contact with our partners.

Because we work with a small team, we can act quickly. If something changes, we try to solve it properly straight away. And if we see that something can be improved, we adjust it.

We know many of our destinations very well ourselves. Some colleagues have worked at Keukenhof for years. Others know Amsterdam from the water, grew up in Volendam or have a lot of experience with our day trips and cruises. That is why we often know exactly what makes a day pleasant: clear information, good transport, enough time at the location and no hassle.

Whether someone is visiting the Netherlands for the first time or has been here before, we want everyone to look back on the day with a good feeling.

That is what we do it for.

We do not only know our destinations from the website. We have visited many of these places ourselves or know them through our work or background.
That is why we like to share a few personal tips from our team. Just small tips that can make the day even better.

Wim – Keukenhof
“I worked at Keukenhof for ten years and still find it special every spring. Even if you have been there many times, it is beautiful to see how the park looks different every season. My tip: visit the windmill and climb to the top. From there you have a great view over the flower fields.”

Gert-Jan – Windmill Cruise and Keukenhof
“My favorite combination is Keukenhof with the Windmill Cruise over the Kagerplassen lakes. From the water you see the Dutch landscape in a calm way. You sail past windmills, meadows and small villages. My tip: take a photo at the front of the boat with the windmills in the background.”

Stijn – Amsterdam canal cruise
“When I was younger, I already worked as a host and guide on the boat. Amsterdam from the water is still beautiful, even if you know the city well. You see the canals, bridges and houses in a different way than from the street. My tip: also look up during the cruise. Along the canals you can see beautiful facades and large living rooms on the first floor.”

Nico – Volendam
“As someone born in Volendam, Volendam will always be a special place for me. The harbor, the boats and the view over the IJsselmeer really belong to the village. Many visitors mainly stay on the Dijk, but there is more to see. My tip: also walk behind the Dijk into the Doolhof. There you will see old Volendam.”

Heleen – Giethoorn
“Giethoorn is a beautiful place to look around quietly. The village has canals, small bridges and thatched farmhouses. You see the most when you are not in a hurry. My tip: join a cruise boat and look carefully to both sides. There is plenty to see along the way.”
